The Decibelles have been making music together for over 10 years, and what started as an informal arrangement between teaching colleagues in a music department has become very much a huge part of our lives. We now have well over 100 original arrangements of songs ranging from the American Songbook to modern classics, including swing arrangements of rock and metal, audience-participation versions of 60s fun, and mash-ups of the most unlikely partnerships such as the Pink Panther and Fever! We perform all over the South East in venues such as the Bull’s Head, Barnes and the Half Moon, Putney, not to mention private parties and weddings, and showcase our 40s sets at various events including the Army Flying Museum in Hampshire. We recently released both our 2nd CD – The Decibelles do the 40s – and our 3rd, The Decibelles do Christmas, at a high-energy sold-out show in Richmond.

The success of the Decibelles is due to the strengths and differences of the three vocalists. Wendy is from a pop, soul and jazz background, Janet is more classical and contemporary, and Dee is a musical theatre and pop diva!  When put together the three voices complement each other perfectly and the arrangements show the wide range of genres that the Decibelles adore.  Also known for their humour: they slap a huge dash of fun on top of their professionalism! You cannot leave a Decibelles night without a smile on your face -  as one happy customer said, “Thank you again for the wonderful entertainment - I remember thinking at one point that I hadn't felt so happy for years!”.
