Pianist Sultan Stevenson is one of the fastest emerging young artists on the London jazz scene. His trio is already established as an outfit to catch when billed to play live and is being tipped for success on national and international stages.
In March of 2023 Sultan released his debut album ‘Faithful One’ under Whirlwind Recordings, the album helped to earn Sultan a parliamentary jazz award for best newcomer of the year. Sultan launched the album at a sold-out headline Jazz Café show. Sultan is currently touring his music in the UK and beyond. He is considered as one of the brightest stars of his generation.
Emile Hinton is a charismatic young jazz pianist and composer coming out of the heart of the London jazz scene. He was recently the winner of the Musicians’ Company Young Jazz Musician of the Year award after a finalist concert at PizzaExpress Jazz Club in Soho, London. He is in his final year at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire, having studied under artists such as Tony Kofi, Steve Williamson, Byron Wallen, Elliot Galvin & Bruno Heinen. Other important mentors include Julian Joseph and Orphy Robinson. Emile has played extensively in venues in London and around the UK, most notably at Ronnie Scott’s with The National Youth Jazz Orchestra. He is also currently a member of Jazz Messenger Jean Toussaint’s Quartet, playing at The Vortex and other clubs around the country. He’s enjoyed playing at festivals in and out of London with Brazilian singer Aleh Ferreira. Emile’s influences as a pianist go from Nat King Cole to Bill Evans to Andrew Hill and his love for classical, avant-garde and music from around the world shines through his own compositions, as can be heard in his recent suite for strings and piano trio: ‘Solmet’.
