Ian Shaw with Special Guest Georgia Mancio
Show Time 8:30pm / Doors Open 7:00pm
BBC award-winner, Ian Shaw, has long been lauded as one of the leading jazz vocalists of our time. His recent solo album, Somewhere Towards Love, (Splash Point Records) not only showcased the incredible breadth of his repertoire (from Eubie Blake to Nick Cave) but also his talents as a pianist and song-writer. Award-winning rising-star vocalist, Georgia Mancio, has supported Cedar Walton and Steve Smith at Ronnie Scott's and performed with Sheila Jordan, Liane Caroll and the Frank Griffith Nonet. She released her third album, Silhouette, (Roomspin Records) in June which demonstrates her formidable skills as a lyricist and writer as well as interpreter of jazz standards, Latin American classics and new originals.
Tonight sees a continuation of their collaboration with performances including The True Jazz Voice (2008), Pizza Express Jazz Club, North Devon Festival and most recently as part of a choir formed by Ian and led by the legendary Bobby McFerrin (Meltdown 2009).
